La ciudad de Loreto es conocida como la “Tierra donde fluye la miel y abunda el guaviramí”. El guaviramí, es una fruta silvestre muy sabrosa originaria de Paraguay. El casco histórico de la ciudad está conformado por antiguas y grandes casonas que contrastan con las casitas rurales. En una de ellas, están expuestos los trofeos del Mcal. José Félix Estigarribia (ex presidente del Paraguay). Los pobladores de Loreto se dedican a la agricultura, la ganadería y obrajes. La ciudad de Loreto está ubicada sobre una alta colina y dista 437km de la ciudad de Asunción
